250YYC-PTSD Program

Is a supportive initiative designed to help individuals affected by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)—especially those who have experienced trauma and later faced the challenges of resettlement.
For many immigrants from East Africa—including Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Congo—PTSD symptoms may become more noticeable after landing in YYC (Calgary), Alberta, Canada. Moving to a new country can bring stress, isolation, language barriers, culture shock, and the pressure of rebuilding life from scratch. In that moment, old pain and memories can surface more strongly—even if someone seemed “fine” for years.
